Several FCMC members were on hand Dec. 4 to help the New Albany Police Dept. shop with children for clothes, shoes, coats and toys for Christmas. This is a very worthy and rewarding cause to help with, if you did not get to help this year, hopefully you can next year.

FCMC was well represented to help escort Santa into Jeffersonville on Dec 1. The parade traveled thru downtown Jeff ending at the courthouse for the town lighting. The streets were crowded with young and old to get a glimpse of Santa as he passed by making his way to the lighting ceremony. After the parade we had dinner in Jeff at the Come Back Inn Pub.

Paul and Jenny did a wonderful job hosting the 4th annual Chili cook-off/supper at their toys shed on November 10 2012
Here are a few words from Jenny:
"Just a quick note about our 4th annual chili cook off on November 10.
Attendance was down a bit due to conflicting schedules, but those of us that were
there did have a good time. Lots and lots to eat, many desserts, and many good
friends.
The weather was wonderful!.. We couldn't have been blessed with a better day.
We got so involved with our corn hole tournament that we almost didn't get our bonfire made. I forgot graham crackers. So no smores. Paul and I are having to eat all the marshmallows and hershey bars ourselves. Oh the things that we all do for this club. LOL!!!
As a footnote.....Steve Merrit was chosen as having the best pot of chili this year. It must have been the way he stirred it!!!! And he and Brenda Clegg won the 4th International North American Corn Hole Championship. Does it smell a bit like favoritism? Could be.
We had a few members from Backyard Classics join us again. Hopefully we can get them to participate more in the coming year in some of our activities.
Mark your calendar for the second Saturday in November next year."

On Friday Oct 12th the ghouls and goblins were out in full force at the Backyard Classics Trunk or Treat cruise in around the Charlestown square. Lots of candy was given out to all. Marty & Brenda Clegg won "Best Decorated"

Friday Sept 28 several FCMC members went to the “Cruz the Burg” cruise-in in Scottsburg IN which on located around the city square. After pizza at Jendies Pizzeria, we enjoyed the evening listening to good music and good conservations.

Wednesday Sept 12th FCMC was invited to participate in the Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall Escort program, escorting the wall through Clarksville, Charlestown, Sellersburg, New Albany and back to Clarksville where the wall was erected and displayed until Sept 16th. Over 500 motorcycles and several Mustang had the great honor of escorting this great monument.

Several members from FCMC went to the annual outing at the Sportsdrome in Clarksville; we had great weather, food and lots of fun. Thanks to Bill and Pat Gibson for setting it all up, job well done as usual. Among the race fans were Marty & Brenda, Rich, Bonnie & Brock, Bill & Pat, Kamos, Bill & Janet, Paul & Jenny, Steve & Nancy, Mike & Vanessa, Larry & Patti

FCMC’s Aug cruise-in was a big success with nearly 100 cars. The weather couldn’t’ have been any better with lots of sunshine and warm temps. If you missed it you missed a great one.

On August 4th FCMC along with White Castle in Jeffersonville hosted their first cruise-in with a 50’s-60’s theme. Lots of cars turned out to listen to the oldies music plus eat at White Castle. Several people dressed the part with their Poodle shirts and even Elvis made an appearance. Hopefully this will be a growing event in the future. Thanks to White Castle for all the door prizes.

We had our annual Pony Drive on June 15th. Jon led us thru southern Indiana ending up at the Black Buggy Amish restaurant in French Lick to have a buffet luncheon and then some go carting for those young enough at heart, just a couple of mild injuries (Bill & Marty). Then back to Community Park for our Welcome Bash. Later we headed to K-Mart for the cruise-in, a very busy but fun filled day.

Thanks to Mike and Vanessa for hosting their annual club picnic on Sunday June 10th. Grill master Mike whipped up some delicious burgers and dogs to go along with all the covered dishes everyone brought, (does anyone need any pies)? After everyone got their bellies full we played cornhole and sat in the shade chatting.

Congrats to our winners of the scavenger hunt clues. Bill, Marcia, & Rachel Smith took home the first place award, Gary & Pam Bushau took home the Second place award, and Joe and Thelma Walters took home our third place award. Congrats Everyone, I for one really enjoyed the day. The Haypress demo was nothing short of AMAZING!!!!!!! IT is the ONLY WORKING Haypess in the United States, according to the staff onsite. Got to see plenty of old weapons and got up close with a 5 year old steer (Oxen). We saw plenty of 1800’s type life and the staff was so nice and answered nearly all my questions. Thanks to everyone there, made for a wonderful outing……………..David Henry

Friday May 25th several FCMC members traveled to Scottsburg for a nice cruise-in. Weather was great, food good.

What a great night for the FCMC cruise-in on May 18th, the weather was perfect and the cars came out in full force, we had well over a hundred cars. Larry and Mike played all the favorite tunes and giving out lots and lots of door prizes. If you missed it you missed a great time and hopefully you can make it to the June cruise-in.

A beautiful drive thru Kentucky a great dinner at Cracker Barrel what more could you ask for on a spring day in May, the 12th that is, for a road rally. David Henry led us all around the backroads of Kentucky, some of us getting lost and some just making u-turns. It was a fun filled day, we started out at a Walmart parking lot then traveled to the Four Roses Distillery where we stopped for a tour and then proceeded to the Cracker Barrel in Shelbyville. Where the scores were tallied up and prizes given out. FCMC came home with the traveling trophy, which means our club will be hosting the rally in 2013, won by Tony Skees and his crew. Bill, Marcia and Rachael Smith came in second while Larry Rixman and Patti took the third prize, congratulations to all the winners. Great job DCMC hosting this years rally.

On April 27, Scottsburg was the setting for a great Cruz in at the Marianne Restaurant, plenty of burgers and dogs were grilled to perfection and served with chips and a drink for only $2 each. Weather was great. We had 11 cars from the club.

Rain just wouldn’t go away on Saturday April 14th for the 48th Mustang Birthday Bash, still the dedicated lovers of their Mustangs came out to celebrate. Free hot dogs, drinks, chip and a specially made Mustang cake was served. Jim O’Neal Ford sponsored the party. In between the rain showers we had a great time. Thanks for all who came despite the bad weather and thanks to our loyal FCMC members for putting on the Bash.

We did something a little different for our March outing, On the 18th we went to the Derby Dinner Playhouse to see Smokey Joe’s Café, we did this so the ones who do not like to or cannot bowl could participate. We started off with a delicious buffet, then a wonderful show. At intermission we had our desserts and Steve got another “birthday” cake, he must be going on a hundred by now, thanks to Lynne. Marty & Brenda, Rich & Bonnie, Bill & Pat, Bill & Lois, Bill & Janet, Larry & Lynne, Steve & Nancy and Phil & Rose Ann all had a great time, if you didn’t go you missed a great time…..

Sunday March 4th We joined Queen City Mustangers and the Mustang Club of Indianapolis for a buffet lunch and some gaming at the Rising Star Casino in Rising Sun IN.

Our Feb bowling outing was at the Hoosier Lanes in New Albany on Feb 18th. We had 21 bowler and a couple of cheerleaders. Congratulations to Larry Mayfield on his great game of 213 and 502 series, taking home the Traveling High Series Trophy as well as the Traveling Turkey Trophy. Ed Trader came in 2nd and Brenda Clegg 3rd each receiving a small cake as their prize. After bowling we went to Sam’s for dinner.

FCMC had their first outing in 2012, January 14th bowling at the Hoosier Lanes in New Albany. Seems like members were ready for a winter break and came out to bowl, we had 21 people bowling and 7 people rooting the bowlers along. Tgis year we started something new for bowling, we have the “Traveling Turkey Trophy”, who ever ends the day with 3 three strikes in a roll take homes the trophy and bragging rights till the next bowling outing, Steve won it the first time and then Mike Rains took it away from him. Also we had the “Traveling High Series Trophy” which the bowler with the highest 3 game score gets to take it home along with the bragging rights until we bowl again. Larry Mayfield and Bill Grant tied with 485 pins so we had to have a “bowl off” with one ball being rolled, Larry won by knocking down 9 pins to Bill’s 7. After bowling we went to the Pizza King for dinner.
