FCMC Christmas Party

Our annual Christmas Party was held on Dec 17 at Tuckers in New Albany. As I always say if you weren’t there you missed a good time. The night started out with happy hour where members mingled and chatted. After Mike Rains lead us in prayer, we were treated to a tasty meal. Marcia Smith led the club in a game of find the safety pins and a trivia game that even the best had trouble with. Then the real fun began. Six of our own members seeking fame as the Village People succeeded in being the Village Idiots. With Mike Rains as the construction man, Larry Mayfield as the biker, Mike Purlee as the soldier, Marty Clegg as Woody the Cowboy, Rich Cook as the cop, and Steve Merritt as the Indian. Their unique brand of entertainment was appreciated by all with their renditions such as Macho Man, YMCA, In the Navy, Jingle Bell Rock,  Disco Santa and Snoopy’s Christmas. And the indescribable encore that if you were not there you missed a good one. After the entertainment we played the Chinese Gift Exchange with many unique and popular gifts. A good time was had by all. Thanks to all who made the party a success. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year............Steve & Nancy  Merritt

After shopping was done we took the children across the road to the National Guard Armory for pizza and drinks. The children were greeted by Santa who gave each child a toy. On Friday July 22nd several members of the FCMC went to the Crusin with the Monarch Cruise-in and concert at the Riverstage in Jeffersonville. We had to get there early around 4pm to get good parking spaces. While we waited for the Monarchs to perform we went to grab a bite to eat at Clucker's. Finally when they took the stage the temperatures went down and we had a comfortable evening to listen to their music. 47th Mustang Birthday Bash

On Saturday April 9, 2011 the Falls City Mustang Club celebrated the 47th birthday of the Mustang at Jim O’Neal Ford. We had over 60 cars present.  There were hot dogs and birthday cake as well as some really nice door prizes. Chris O’Neal was kind enough to provide two Garman GPS systems. One was for all participants and the other was for FCMC members only. Larry Mayfield won for the members.

There were a few anxious moments as a really strong storm rolled through around noon. There was heavy rain, lightening and even some HAIL. Most people took cover in the showroom while a few of us tried to keep the tent from blowing away. After the storm passed people had a chance to dry and inspect their cars. Luckily there were no reports of damage just a couple of soggy DJ’s. The rest of the afternoon was great with nice temperatures and lots of sunshine.

After the show was over and the clean up was finished most went to El Nopal for dinner. All things considered it was a good time and everyone seemed to enjoy it......Mike Rains
