Our annual Christmas Party was held on Dec 17 at Tuckers in New Albany. As I always say if you weren’t there you missed a good time. The night started out with happy hour where members mingled and chatted. After Mike Rains lead us in prayer, we were treated to a tasty meal. Marcia Smith led the club in a game of find the safety pins and a trivia game that even the best had trouble with. Then the real fun began. Six of our own members seeking fame as the Village People succeeded in being the Village Idiots. With Mike Rains as the construction man, Larry Mayfield as the biker, Mike Purlee as the soldier, Marty Clegg as Woody the Cowboy, Rich Cook as the cop, and Steve Merritt as the Indian. Their unique brand of entertainment was appreciated by all with their renditions such as Macho Man, YMCA, In the Navy, Jingle Bell Rock, Disco Santa and Snoopy’s Christmas. And the indescribable encore that if you were not there you missed a good one. After the entertainment we played the Chinese Gift Exchange with many unique and popular gifts. A good time was had by all. Thanks to all who made the party a success. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year............Steve & Nancy Merritt

Falls City Mustang Club was out in full force as usual, on Dec 8, this time at the Walmart in New Albany for the Shop with a Cop program. Fourteen members helped take the children into the store letting them pick out clothes, shoes, pjs, socks, coats and a few toys for each one. After shopping was done we took the children across the road to the National Guard Armory for pizza and drinks. The children were greeted by Santa who gave each child a toy. After eating the children enjoyed some time playing in the giant inflatable Pirate ship. Thanks to Ralph and Linda Hines for their dedication to the children and this wonderful program.

Patti and I drove to Detroit the weekend of Aug 20th to attend the Woodward Ave Dream Cruise and Mustang Alley. Ford sponsored the Mustang Alley event and had 700 Mustangs registered and had to turn away over a hundred. It was a great event, the weather was terrific and Ford pulled out all the stops to throw a great party..........Larry

After the Louisville Open Show and Shine at the Masonic Homes on July 30th, we went to Steve and Nancy Merritt’s for a club cookout. Master chef Steve grilled burgers, brats and corn on the cob for everyone. Food was plentiful with all the delicious dishes everyone brought, no one went home hungry. Debbie made a beautiful cake for Lynne’s birthday, and we all sang Happy Birthday to her. After the cake we played cornhole and just sat around talking and having fun. Bill thanks for the “shine”.
On Friday July 22nd several members of the FCMC went to the Crusin with the Monarch Cruise-in and concert at the Riverstage in Jeffersonville. We had to get there early around 4pm to get good parking spaces. While we waited for the Monarchs to perform we went to grab a bite to eat at Clucker's. Finally when they took the stage the temperatures went down and we had a comfortable evening to listen to their music. We were entertained with fireworks from across the river when the band took a break.

The highlight came when once again the cream rose to the top and Mike & Larry won back the corn hole trophies. All in all it was a really good time. Mike and Vanessa would like to thank everyone for coming and bringing all that food!.........Mike
FCMC finally got to have their first dry cruise in of the season on May 20th. It was also the really first cruise in we were able to have at our new location the K Mart parking lot. Thanks to everyone who came out…… See you next month.
This last Saturday, May 14th, the FCMC hosted the 3rd annual Road Rally, I have to hand it to Jonathan and Debbie Hunt for the great job they did this year putting it all together. Those of you that shied away because of the weather missed a great time. We started off in New Albany and traveled through Southern Indiana crossing the Ohio River Bridge at Mauckport Indiana and on to Doe Run Inn where we had an excellent meal waiting for us. After eating we headed down towards Dixie Hwy. answering more questions on our way to Dairy Queen in Valley Station for the final tally. Members of the Derby Mustang Club took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. sweeping all of the awards. DCMC also had FCMC up on Club participation with their 14 cars to our 11 cars. DCMC won back the traveling trophy and will host the rally next year......Steve Merritt
On Saturday April 9, 2011 the Falls City Mustang Club celebrated the 47th birthday of the Mustang at Jim O’Neal Ford. We had over 60 cars present. There were hot dogs and birthday cake as well as some really nice door prizes. Chris O’Neal was kind enough to provide two Garman GPS systems. One was for all participants and the other was for FCMC members only. Larry Mayfield won for the members. There were a few anxious moments as a really strong storm rolled through around noon. There was heavy rain, lightening and even some HAIL. Most people took cover in the showroom while a few of us tried to keep the tent from blowing away. After the storm passed people had a chance to dry and inspect their cars. Luckily there were no reports of damage just a couple of soggy DJ’s. The rest of the afternoon was great with nice temperatures and lots of sunshine.
After the show was over and the clean up was finished most went to El Nopal for dinner. All things considered it was a good time and everyone seemed to enjoy it......Mike Rains
On Sunday, March 20, twelve FCMC Mustangs came out of winter hibernation for a beautiful, mostly sunny drive along the back roads to Bardstown, Ky for lunch at BJ’s Bar and Grill. On the return trip, the bright sun coaxed the drop top owners to do just that…drop the top. Kudos to Larry Rixman for mapping out the scenic back roads route and setting us up for the great dining in Bardstown.------Marty
