1962 Mustang I 

In 1962, styling chief Eugene Bordinat and engineer Herb Misch produced the impressive Mustang I. Although enthusiasts loved it, Lee Iacocca didn't view it as the high volume sportscar he had in mind and the Mustang I was cancelled.

Developed by Ford stylist Don DeLaRosa using sketches drawn by John Najjar, the Mustang II was created to preview the soon to be produced production 1964 1/2 Mustang

This show car was obviously based on the production model Mustangs. It was much lower, however, and sported a number of new features. The functional air scoops on the sides, "port-hole" side windows, racing style fuel filler caps and quadruple exhaust pipes were just a few.
